I don't see how long term panhandling
helps anyone. I think hooking up panhandlers to agencies that exist to help poorer folks is a very good thing!!!dougcuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07422980614375719418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25979735.post-88280172804501489142017-03-09T10:51:05.592-08:002017-03-09T10:51:05.592-08:00Soooooo.....Will these folks be filling out an I9,...Soooooo.....Will these folks be filling out an I9, with proper ID, and W-4's, just like the rest of us?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25979735.post-80833733933361110782017-03-09T10:46:45.085-08:002017-03-09T10:46:45.085-08:00I wonder if there will be pushback from the city w...I wonder if there will be pushback from the city workers. I don't see local city unions being a big fan, it takes away from the size of there union and lowers union pay.

I'll need to read more, but I'm curious if these folks are treated as employees? I would think they would have too, otherwise I see every business in the state trying to figure out how to classify there workers in a similar way. In those four hours I accumulated several bags of food and groceries, water and Gatorade, and $674.38 in cash. Not bad for four hours of standing around with a sign that read: "Please Help".

When I was finished, I found a homeless family and gave it all to them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25979735.post-45824974566632433102017-03-09T09:51:05.773-08:002017-03-09T09:51:05.773-08:00The article assumes that the panhandlers are by an...The article assumes that the panhandlers are by and large destitute and homeless. Question whether that assumption is true. Panhandling is hard work, and a drug addict generally cannot sustain the long hours necessary to generate the needed money. Many, though certainly not all, panhandlers have cars, phones, and stable places to live. I'd like to see a follow-up article in six months to report how well the $10.68 offer was received.
