In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. The decline of local news coverage is hurting our democracy.
Judy Woodruff reported from the town of Canadian, Texas for PBS News Hour:
Oh BS. They were dry as a martini and encouraged stagnation instead of change. Many people gonna jump ship to fringe websites when they don't get enough of the so called news that they like anyway.. and decline in local news control was inevitable with online media being more prevalent.
