Over on our county's two hate websites, there's nary a peep about what the St. Augustine Record calls our Sheriff's "contempt" for county commissioners, which reflects contempt for democracy itself.
The St. Augustine Record and this blog first posted the transcript of the McCLURE-SHOAR conversation yesterday. It's been more than 24 hours.
Plazabum.com has one little posting about the Thomas Manuel case, but nothing at all from those nasty bigots about the contents of the transcript of the June 11, 2008 of the conversation between SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR and GEORGE McCLURE. Only one post on the subject of Manuel's motion, by a former county resident who moved to New Mexico.
Shamefulpeople.com has not changed its front page for 125 days -- it is still taking racist potshots against reform County Commissioner J. Kenneth Bryan, the last one having been posted on August 4, 2009. Not one word about how shameful GEORGE McCLURE and SHERIFF SHOAR are in the transcript of the June 11, 2008 call.
Nope, there will be no "shameful people" nominations of SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR or GEORGE McCLURE for being shameful people. That hate website's queer concept of "shameful" is limited by the website's crabby proprietor (MICHAEL GOLD) to people who have the courage to be activists and who have the guts to stand up to the one-party misrule of St. Johns County by the likes of Republican SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR, St. Augustine City Manager WILLIAM B. HARRISS and foreign-funded "developers" whom former County Commissioner Ben Rich has called "worse than any carpetbagger."
The reason these two local hate websites won't be hating SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR and GEORGE McCLURE is obvious -- the two hate sites are run for the benefit of the political machine of St. Augustine City Manager WILLIAM B. HARRISS and SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR.
These two local hate websites are run by MICHAEL GOLD, who is the bagman for SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR f/k/a "DAVID HOAR," having raised over $250,000 for SHOAR during 2004 -- so much money that no one ran against SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR in 2008. That's GOLD and SHOAR above, at GOLD's graduation from Flagler College.
So the KKK-style hate sites are silent. How about that. Their silence is revealing. Their silence is inculpatory. Their silence is reminiscent of the dog that didn't bark in one of Sir Edward Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories.
We invite MICHAEL GOLD to comment here and try to defend his SHERIFF.
SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR (a/k/a "I make Machiavelli look like a piker") is clueless -- apparently he has no idea that he and GEORGE McCLURE may have violated federal criminal civil rights laws by soliciting the prosecution of his political enemy.
Meanwhile, SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR's remarks to the Record are both smug and sibilant.
In the immortal words of the late New Orleans Parish District Attorney Jim Garrison, "what do you expect from a pig but a grunt."
