St. Augustine firefighters have unanimously endorsed Peter Romano for City Commissioner.
All 28 International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local Union (LU) 2282 firefighters have been going door-to-door in our Nation's Oldest City to elect a man who cares about city workers, residents and fire safety. Our current Mayor, third-generation politician GEORGE GARDNER, cares not for the rights of citizens and city employees, including first responders.
GARDNER put out some last-minute flummery and dupery last night at 8 PM.
See article below for Mayor GARDNER's impolite responses to firemen questions about failure to deliver on promised raises with increases in the city fire fee (and refusal to answer questions about 20,000 cubic yards of illegal dumping by CITY MANAGER WILLIAM B. HARRISS).
St. Augustine voters deserve a choice and a voice.
It's our town and our time.
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
