In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Editor: For the first time in many years, voters in St. Johns County have a good chance of unseating Rep. John Mica in U.S. Congressional District 7. I am supporting Faye Armitage.
Faye Armitage became active in politics pushing for stem-cell research after her son was paralyzed in an accident at age 7. This led to advocating for universal health care. But she is not a one-issue candidate. As a former professor of economics and health care industry worker, Faye Armitage understands the challenges facing District 7. I believe that she has the background to bring workable solutions for all. Along with universal health care, other issues she is truly passionate about include addressing the real estate foreclosure crisis, high gas prices and the rising cost of living expenses that affect all Americans.
District 7 needs bold new leadership with fresh ideas to move the district and the country in the right direction.
That's why I am voting for Faye Armitage on Nov. 4.
