Signs disappearing

Signs disappearing

Editor: In the past few weeks 90 percent of the political signs posted on behalf of R.J. Larizza for state attorney have been stolen or destroyed within days sometimes hours of being put in the ground.

The person(s) stealing these signs obviously do not realize that the removal of political signs is considered crime. The owner of the property could also charge the thieves with trespassing. The signs have been removed from private property, taken off fences, near homes and businesses. In some of the same locations, several other political signs went untouched.

Mr. Larizza has run a grassroots campaign and his campaign volunteers have worked many hours and received permission from individual property owners to put up these signs. It is a disservice to these people and the voters in the 7th Judicial Circuit.

It is a sad day when supporters of politicians do not have enough confidence in their candidate and feel the need to stoop to this level to be remembered at the polls.
