Amazing How That "Safe" Offshore Drilling Technology MICA Touts Caused 500,000 Gallon Oil Spills After Hurricane Ike!

First JOHN MICA and other Republicans abolished the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment in 1995. Then they claim offshore drilling technology is "safe." Now Hurricane Ike (like Hurricane Katrina before it) proves once again the technology is not "safe." Oil spills are common occurences wherever offshore oil drilling exists. We don't need it in Florida or it will destroy our tourist economy. Here endeth the lesson.
