ST. AUGUSTINE's LEAKING SEAWALL POSES RISK TO LIFE, PROPERTY -- REQUIRES A $6 MILLION REPLACEMENT

St. Augustine City Manager WILLIAM B. HARRISS wasted $22 million of our money on a too-big parking garage that sits mostly unused most of the time, a monument to pork barrel decisionmaking of BOSS HARRISS.

Now the seawall is leaking, for want of $6 million.

The design would save the old seawall behind a ten foot promenade, with vaults underneath to retain flood waters -- enhancing the beauty of our waterfront.

Where do we get $6 million in this economy?

Let's make the seawall part of the St. Augustine National Historical Park, National Seashore and National Scenic Coastal Highway legislation.

Or else perhaps Mr. HARRISS would like to stick his finger in the leaks every time it rains, like the proverbial Little Dutch Boy.

Of course, the seawall is leaking along its entire length, so perhaps Mr. HARRISS might enlist some of the 350 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees we have in a city of less than 14,000, starting with the hostile managers who quake in their boots in fear of Mr. HARRISS.
