If Governor Crist Wants to Show Independence, He Won't Replace MANUEL With Another Republican

This isn't about donkeys and elephants. It's about right and wrong.

If Governor Crist wants to show respect for diversity, he will name a Democrat to succeed THOMAS GLAIZE MANUEL (if he's convicted).

Otherwise, Crist risks endorsing the ancien regime in St. Johns County, whose second stringer THOMAS G. MANUEL has embarassed our county and our people.

The automatic appointment of another dull Republican will show the voters that Crist does not deserve re-election in 2010.
