In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

MORRIS COMMUNICATIONS' St. Augustine WRecKord Tolerates "Reporter" Dozing Off in Meetings?
Apparently, on the theory of "let sleeping dogs lie," MORRIS COMMUNICATIONS' and its St. Augustine WRecKord have had nothing to say about their "senior reporter" dozing off in at least one government meeting last week. Not only did "senior reporter" PETER GUINTA arrive late, leave early and appear to fall asleep, his vehicle brushed against the Anastasia Mosquito Control District of St. Johns County fence gate on the way out of the property, making a very audible noise. (without stopping to check his car or the fence gate for damage). (See below).
That's what I call "hit and run reporting."
We know the WRecKord and its reporters are lapdogs, but not watchdogs.
The sleepy-time meeting in quo resulted in a page-one story, with several of PETER GUINTA's usual inaccuracies. (See below).
Are we "shocked, shocked" as Claude Rains' character would say?
Do citizens deserve better reporting from "our" local newspaper?
What do you "wreckon" about the WRecKord?
How much would you bid for it after May 28th?
