IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
FOR THE SOUTHERN DISTRICT OF GEORGIA
IN re: MORRIS PUBLISHING GROUP, LLC, et al. Case No. 10-10134 (JSD)
Joint Administration
Hon. John S. Dalis, Bankruptcy Judge
______________________________________________________________________________
INTERVENORS’S NOTICE OF APPEAL FROM DENIAL OF OBJECTION AND OPPOSITION TO DEBTOR’S
MOTION FOR FINAL DECREE,
THEIR MOTION TO APPEAR AT APRIL 28 HEARING BY TELEPHONE,
AND INTERVENORS’ EMERGENCY MOTION FOR STAY PENDENTE LITE
_____________________________________________________________________________
Intervenors respectfully give notice of their appeal of the April 15, 2010 Order (Doc. 212) denying their Objection and Opposition to the Debtor’s Motion for Final Decree, Their Motion to Appear at the April 28 Hearing By Telephone, and their Emergency Motion for Stay Pendente Lite. In the Order, this Honorable Bankruptcy Court Judge, John S. Dalis, derisively termed Intervenors “self-styled community activists” and failed to discuss the law or the facts and refused to let newspaper readers be heard about a bankruptcy case in which the Court spent twenty minutes on the future of thirteen (13) newspapers. The future of American journalism – and Intervenors’ right to be heard on declining news budgets and the possible closing of the St. Augustine Record – deserve to be treated with dignity, respect anc consideration.
Let justice be done.
Respectfully submitted,
