United States District Court Judge Timothy Corrigan has granted a short delay on former Republican County Commission Chairman THOMAS G. MANUEL's incarceration to allow for more cardiac tests.
Judge Corrigan's April 16, 2010 Order states that "FCI Butner" (Federal Correctional Institution in Butner, N.C., in the Research Triangle Park area) is ready to care for TOM MANUEL and has all of the heart medications MANUEL takes and has all of the facilities required to care for MANUEL, who is a heart transplant recipient.
Judge Corrigan has given MANUEL's attorneys until April 26, 2010 to file reports on his health status. MANUEL was originally set to self-report to FCI Butner on April 21, 2010.
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
