> I received your email from Chief Railey who is on vacation and unable to respond. I did review the matter and wanted to inform you that the traffic stop conducted by the Maitland Police Officer involving Ms. Mica was lawful and within the guidelines and requirements as outlined in the Inter-Agency Mutual Aid Agreement. The traffic stop and subsequent DUI Investigation was conducted by the Maitland Police Department and referred to the Orange Osceola State Attorney’s Office for prosecution. Even though the traffic stop occurred within the jurisdictional boundaries of Winter Park, the Maitland Police Officer established the probable cause to arrest Ms. Mica.

> Since the arrest, the State Attorney’s Office conducted a review of the matter and has filed a notice of “Voluntary Dismissal” therefore the case was “nolle prossed” on June 3rd.

>
> Based on the decision rendered by the State Attorney’s Office, I feel the matter has been reviewed by the appropriate judicial authority. There is no legal reason for the Winter Park Police Department to intervene in the matter.
