In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

PLEASE ATTEND:
IMPORTANT MEETING WEDNESDAY: 9:30 -11:30 am
ST. JOHNS SOUTHEAST BRANCH PUBLIC LIBRARY
A workshop being held at the public library on a filtering program to limit access through a filtering process is being held tomorrow. Unfortunately, those who are concerned about children's use of the internet see that any use of the internet may lead to pornographic access.
This is a first step to incorporating censorship on internet users at the public library. The filtering device is so sensitive that any biological word or term pertaining to parts of the body will censor the activities of the user. This would curtail any biological study of any kind or medical research being conducted by students on research papers and indicate it as pornography. Limiting the use of the internet through this kind of filter at this time would be detrimental.
The Library's website message reads as follows:
Special Internet Filtering Workshop for the Library Advisory Board from 9:30 - 11:30 am at the Southeast Branch library meeting room. This workshop is open to the public.
Please plan to attend so that the voices of reason may be heard!
