FIRST COAST NEWS: SHERIFF DAVID SHOAR TO SPEAK TO CITIZENS AT PUBLIX -- ASK HIM ABOUT MICHAEL GOLD'S HATE WEBSITES

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- The county's top law enforcement officer is pulling some additional weekend shifts to help give everyone an opportunity to ask him questions directly.

St. Johns County Sheriff David Shoar said he realizes most people work Monday through Friday and can't always make appointments, so he'll be stationed at area Publix stores to hear from residents during the weekends.

"I feel this will be a casual way for our citizens to ask direct questions to me about the state of law enforcement in our county as well as future plans," Shoar said.

Shoar will be available for questions and to offer crime prevention tips to anyone interested.

His first outreach will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the World Golf Village Publix, at the intersection of State Road 16 and International Golf Parkway.
