In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Firing for Hatch Act Violations: Arachnid Apparatchik CHARLIE SERAPHIN FIRED
CHARLIE SERAPHIN GIVEN 30 DAYS NOTICE OF CONTRACT TERMINATION FOR HATCH ACT VIOLATIONS
Thank you, City Manager John Regan for doing the right thing for the taxpayers and our City, while respecting Seraphin's contractual rights under Section 6 of his contract.
Thank you, Michael Gold and Historic City News for reporting the news.
Two true blue public services by Messrs. Regan and Gold.
Thank you both. I am proud to live here. Read all about it, here.
About time.
ReplyDeleteNo one likes to see someone lose his or her job, but Seraphin's acts don't allow any other option.
What he did is contemptible.
That he was paid $70K+ by the City for 3-4 years and produced nothing at all meaningful is contemptible, too.
He was part of the illustrious, can-do-no-wrong 450th "team< led by Boles's acolyte Dana Ste. Claire, who also earns a ridiculous sum of money WITH full benefits AND perks to accomplish... what???
Notice he has kept a very low profile since Ms. Nancy Shave hit the ground, running for mayor.
We know where you slither, Dana.
The 450th "team" budget was PROMISED by Boles AND City Manager John Regan NOT TO EXCEED $200,000 PER YEAR. Yet, it has ballooned into DOUBLE that! HOW???
Let us not forget Mr. Regan is running this show.
There is enough dirt and guilt to cover everyone connected and bury them.
November is a good time to clean house.
