Editor: Jeanne Moeller is running for re-election to Anastasia Mosquito Control District (AMCD) Commissioner, Seat 2.
She has done an effective job of educating the residents of this county in mosquito control, by speaking at over 500 events on the topic “Who, When and Why Mosquito Control.”
She supports environmentally-sound mosquito control practices. She believes in proactive mosquito control, which is critical to public health, our quality of life and tourism.
She will continue to promote community outreach programs to help residents control mosquitoes.
Jeanne has been a strong advocate for the continued existence of an independent mosquito control district, especially now with the first victim of the West Nile Virus in our county.
She was elected chair of the AMCD Board in 2008, 2010 and 2013. She has initiated numerous policy and procedure changes that were accepted and approved by the AMCD board.
Jeanne is active in our community and is on various boards and memberships including Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition, the NAACP, the American Association of University Women and the St. Augustine South Improvement Association.
I have known Jeanne for many years. I support and endorse her for re-election as AMCD Commissioner, Seat 2 because, I feel, she is the best person for this position. She is the right person to safeguard our environment and natural resources, through science-based mosquito control and applied research.
She has the experience, not her opponent, to protect our health.
Please vote for Jeanne Moeller Nov. 4.
