In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Bad Planning and Bad Grammar: 450th Faux Pas?
St. Augustine City Manager JOHN PATRICK REGAN, P.E. continues to disappoint, failing February 23rd at City Commission to keep his commitments to Mayor Nancy Shaver and Commissioners about listing musical acts for our 450th, which is on Labor Day Weekend.
Volunteers who signed up seven years ago were never contacted.
Spending on Noche de Gala not documented.
Plans still inchoate six months out.
Pitiful.
Mismanagement.
Our City's core competency is delay, coverups and waste.
Not only did REGAN not list any musical acts signed booked February 234d, but he rambled on like a used car salesman, like Mr. Haney on Green Acres. And he said that the program would be "very very unique' and "very unique."
"Unique" does not take a modifier, John -- that was nikulturny.
Bad planning and bad grammar in one fast-talking presentation. Pitiful. Here's a West Wing excerpt on a fictional bureaucrat's inept misuse of the word "unique" No modifier. No "very very unique," please.
UNDER SCRUTINY: City Manager JOHN PATRICK REGAN, P.E.
There has been six years' lead time for this. All those years of frivolous and undocumented spending, whimsy!
ReplyDeleteNow a new flow chart with six high-paid city staffers to aide Dana Ste. Claire with the final six months.
The biggest six months, but no firm plans.
How long are we going to tolerate this lame city manager?
