The St. Augustine Record viewspaper today published a curiously opinionated article saying I will not be prosecuted for asking for local government records and accountability. Whew! Who knew! Is this a great country, or what?
The defamatory, one-sided article was mislabeled as "news" on page 3 of the print edition.
Even on the editorial page, it could be considered libelous.
I wear city MisNanagement's scorn as a badge of honor.
The backstory: false and defamatory accusations, hateful statements, hearsay, innuendo and leaks from City Manager JOHN PATRICK REGAN, P.E., Assistant City Manager TIMOTHY BURCHFIELD and Police Chief LORAN LUEDERS, former co-workers of St. Johns County Sheriff DAVID BERNARD SHOAR f/k/a "DAVID BERNARD HOAR."
Retaliation for reporting wrongdoing -- including violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, reported today to the Justice Department -- click here.
St. Augustine City Hall's "Bush League MisManagement" (BLM) dumped a landfill in a lake, emitted sewage and semi-treated effluent in our rivers and salt marsh, arrested hundreds of St. Augustine street artists and musicians, and sold the public a pig of poke on our 450th commemoration.
The last straw for BLM was my requesting reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities for the December 1, 2014 refusal to provide enough chairs for the public when Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince inaugurated Mayor Nancy Shaver was the last straw.
I had requested more chairs for weeks. BLM was insouciant.
BLM City Manager REGAN and staff refused repeated requests to remove staff tables, resulting in 100 people standing, including elders and persons with disabilities. The next day, on December 2, 2015, REGAN said to his HR Director, NANCY RAWLSON, "We have to do something about Ed Slavin." This resulted in a "trespass warning for upper floors of City Hall except for meetings and appointments.
Both Record stories were phoned in by JOHN REGAN (who claims not to have known about the landfill being dumped into the lake), REGAN's direct report, TIMOTHY BURCHFIELD (who did know about dumping the landfill and the lake and Chief LORA LUEDERS (who works for REGAN).
The City of St. Augustine MisManagement remind me of what JFK said about Washington, D.C.: "A city of Northern charm and Southern efficiency."
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called the City of St. Augustine "the most lawless city in America."
We call it "home."
We're reforming our government, and will keep on doing it.
We expect to be treated as citizens, not bothersome pests, when we ask questions. Government must work for us, and not the 1%.
The City of St. Augustine City MisManagement lacks core competencies including ethics, manners, and management and public relations skills (despite City Manager JOHN REGAN's staff nickname as the "Minister of Propaganda," of which he is proud).
Keep asking questions.
Demand answers.
Expect democracy.
Like any good American diplomat, "Don't take no for an answer." 'Smile.
Go to meetings.
Work for Justice for Michelle).
Enjoy our 450th.
For our future, let's pledge our "sacred honor" and keep exposing;
1. Flummery,
2. Dupery,
3. Nincompoopery,
4. Waste,
5. Fraud,
6. Abuse,
7. Misfeasance,
8. Malfeasance,
9. Nonfeasance,
10. Secret meetings,
11. No-bid contacts,
12. First Amendment violations,
13. Sunshine violations, and
14. Open records, document destruction and record keeping violations concealing possible peculation
It's Our Town and Our Time. We're not afraid of Hick Hacks and Their Errors and Few Facts misreporting of MisManagers' defamatory statements and opinions as "The News."
It's all sleaze wrapped in snootiness emanating from two discredited, dodgy, domineering ex-Mayors JOSEPH LESTER BOLES, Jr. and CLAUDE LEONARD WEEKS, JR. et al,, (a/k/a "the kings and queens of St. Augustine").
To retaliate as they did with their false and defamatory article today tells me one thing:
We must be getting close, folks! As Bette Davis would say, "Fasten your seat belts, it's going to be a bumpy night."
Ed - December 2015 hasn't happened yet. I think you meant 2014.
ReplyDeleteIs that trespass warning based in a city ordinance?
ReplyDeleteYou have to be very careful here. You are dealing with murderous thugs and known usurpers of the law who have hijacked our city government.
Just because know liar JOHN PATRICK REGAN says it won't be prosecuted means nothing.
If the criminal history of this city is a valid guide —and it most certainly is — then there may even be a secret warrant already issued for your arrest.
I remember Roger Jolley being arrested on a secret warrant at midnight of the same day he went to the city police station and complained of city goon squad cops entering private property in the dark of night without a warrant and trashing into a dumpster; private belongings of protesters, protest materials, and copies of my BANNED and CONFISCATED Saint Aug Dog newspaper.
I also remember that he, and many many others, were all prosecuted under these city generated, transparently Unconstitutional Jim Crow 'civil misdemeanor' laws — laws made to maintain control of the hijacked city—by a state prosecutor, or a City attorney sworn as Asst. State’s Attorney for the purpose of prosecuting under criminal procedures.
That's right! You get a criminal record to go along with the goon squad wake up call in the dark of night.
Excerpt from Roger Jolley's Criminal Complaint filed with Florida’s Attorney General Jan 15, 2010;
"For the record, here in St. Augustine, (Kat) Katherine Twine, a widely known civil rights activist wrote that she kept a packed bag by the front door because the local Sheriff liked to arrest you with secretly held warrants 6 weeks after a charge was made, with the physical arrest at midnight to strike terror in the hearts of those who dared to march for justice under the law."

Keep a bag packed Ed.

Thank you both. Corrected date. Filed ADA complaint. Outrageous for City officials known for lawbreaking, illegal dumping and crudity to criticize my manners, dress or tone of voice -- like giving out speeding tickets at the Indy 500. It all started with the chairs, and City staff's intentionally making 50-100 people stand. Past meetings where crowds were expected were held at Flagler College Auditorium. It was a display of bad manner toward Justice Peggy Quince, Mayor Nancy Shaver and all of our supporters. Despicable false statements by City staff were ordered by Regan --- "we've got to do something about Ed Slavin!"
