It appears the Easter Bunny has laid two eggs in our city's basket on this Easter Sunday.
Check out the page one banner headline and City Manager "Easter Column" in today's thin St. Augustine Record.
Our City Manager, JOHN PATRICK REGAN, P.E., without answering key questions about cronyism, self-dealing, no-bid contracts on the 450th:
1. Published a column wrapping himself in the 450th and various emotions:
2. Pushed a page one banner headline story saying there would be no 450th audit.
Chutzpa.
Chauvinism.
Pseudo-patriotic and pseudo religious.
Almost content-free.
City Hall is brazenly, openly and notoriously resisting accountability while prattling on about it emptily.
Twice before breakfast on Easter Sunday.
City Manager REGAN's articles ask us to believe a number of impossible things before breakfast.
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
