Favoritism Toward Tax Increasers by City of St. Augustine Commissioners: Viewpoint Discrimination Violates First Amendment

The City of St. Augustine limits public speakers to three minutes and does not allow public comment on every agenda item. That includes a nineteen minute presentation in favor of a 1/2 cent tax increase, without any opportunity for public comment or critical questions. This is viewpoint discrimination and violates the First Amendment.

You vote against the developer-driven tax increase between now and November 3.

See item 7A1 at September 14, 2015, sponsored by Commissioner NANCY SIKES-KLINE, here.  (22 minute and 48 second total includes some three minutes and eight seconds knelling on 450th: the rest is pure propaganda for the developer-driven sales tax increase in our sales tax.
