This morning, July 11, 2016, Sheriff DAVID SHOAR abruptly cancelled his speech to the St. Johns Civic Roundtable.
Videographer-journalist Jeffrey Marcus Gray and I were there, at the St. Augustine Airport Convention Center, waiting to question him.
SHOAR cancelled.
No public explanation was ever given.
Instead, St. Johns County Parks and Recreation Will Smith spoke, with a vigorous and intelligent exchange on the future of our county parks,
This was not the first time that Sheriff DAVID SHOAR f/k/a "HOAR" bolted, canceled or bailed on a public appearance.
Color him AWOL, afraid of his shadow, as the FBI investigation continues, with one percipient witness interviewed for three hours July 8th.
As William F. Buckley, Jr. once said, "WHY DOES BALONEY REJECT THE GRINDER?"

In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
