LEN WEEKS WINS AD VALOREM PROPERTY TAX EXEMPTION

Historic building destroyer LEN WEEKS won another government favor on Thursday, October 20, 2016. The St. Augustine Historic Architectural Review Board, hearing testimony from Dr. Leslee Keys, Ph.D. of Flagler College, granted WEEKS, a/k/a "CLAUDE LEONARD WEEKS, JR." yet another ad valorem property tax exemption for one of his properties. I reminded HARB members, WEEKS' pals, that WEEKS was fined only $3600 by the Code Enforcement Board for destroying 211 year old Don Pedro Fornells House at 62A Spanish Street on September 25, 2014, a date that will live in infamy. I quoted former Senator Gary Warren Hart (D-Colo.), who said, "You won't get the government off your back until you get your hands out of its pockets."

HARB unamously voted the ten year ad valorem tax exemption for the value of improvements at the 34 Cordova Street property.

WEEKS is former HARB Chair, former Mayor and business pattern of ex-MAYOR JOE BOLES a/k/a "JOSEPH LESTER BOLES, JR." in the no-bid, below market rate longterm lease of city property at 81 St. George Street (leased to Florida Cracker Cafe and Savannah Sweets).

Upon leaving, WEEKS grinned at me (more of a smirk or a rictus), started to say something to me, but held his tongue, pirouetting and leaving the room.
