FAMILY TIES I: SUPREME COURT ASPIRANT BRADLEY KING CONCEALS HIS CHILDREN'S EMPLOYERS: TWO LAWYERS, ONE SHERIFF's DEPUTY

Controversial Fifth Circuit State's Attorney BRADLEY EUGENE KING has applied for a seat on the Florida Supreme Court with the Florida Supreme Court Judicial Nominations Commission, which meets Monday, November 28, 2016 in Orlando. The JNC will interview eleven candidates on TV, then deliberate privately.

Joining Sheriff DAVID SHOAR in his coverup, BRAD KING covered up the September 2, 2010 shooting death of Michelle O'Connell as special prosecutor, featured in an hour long PBS Frontline episode and 11,000 word article in The New York Times.  In his application to be a Justice of the Florida Supreme Court, BRAD KING lists ten (10) references, the first of which is none other than Sheriff DAVID SHOAR.

As Dave Barry would write, "You can't make this stuff up."

In a redacted filing intended for members of the public, State's Attorney BRAD KING's omits the identity of his children's employers from his job application.  Two are attorneys; one is a Sheriff's Deputy:

ANDREW KING, 29, is an Assistant State's Attorney for an unnamed Florida State's Attorney.  Which one?

BROOKE KING, 27, is a law clerk for an unnamed First District Court of Appeals Judge.  Which one?

CHASE KING is a 22-year old Sheriff's Deputy for an unnamed Sheriff.  Which one?

BRAD KING thinks you don't have a Right to Know.

I say that you do.

If BRAD KING thinks our Florida Constitution, Article I, Section 24 or F.S. 119 permits him to conceal information about his chidlren's employment from you and me, she's just whistlin' Dixie.

He also left their employers names off the list of persons, firms or entitles from whose cases he could recuse himself, while saying he would recuse himself from cases where his two lawyer children, one lawyer brother and one lawyer nephew were "cousel of record."

No mention of the Deputy Sheriff.

I have written JNC:

Dear Mr. Unger:
Thank you for the thumb drive containing the eleven (11) applications.  I received it today.

A. Please note the following questionable redactions or material omissions of fact, which I have noticed thus far:

1.  The names of the employers of Brad King's adult children (which Sheriff?  Which DCA Judge?  Which State's Attorney?  All are public records.)
2.  The name of Wendy Berger's husband, where he is employed as CEO and EVP (she does not list those corporations among likely recusals in response to Q34).
Since Judge Berger's husband's name (Larry)(and photograph) appeared in the newspapers upon her inauguration as DCA judge, there is no legitimate purpose served in omitting either that or the name of his current corporate employers.
B. These omissions may suggest a lack of openness and candor on the part of these two applicants and require further scrutiny.
C. Please provide the requested information today, pursuant to F.S. 119 and Article I, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution.
Thank you.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Ed Slavin
