PROPOSED BAN ON FILL DIRT MIGHT DOOM MARRIOTT RENAISSANCE SAN MARCO HOTEL AT SAN MARCO & WEST CASTILLO

Floodplain management standards under consideration by the City of St. Augustine and its Code Enforcement, Adjustments and Appeals Board may doom the proposed SAN MARCO HOTEL. Code Enforcement Board members favored a recommendation to City Commission to ban use of fill dirt in construction. If adopted, this might doom KANTI PATEL's proposed SAN MARCO HOTEL. The issue will be discussed by the Code Enforcement Board, Planning and Zoning Board and City Commission later this year in the context of floodproofing our recently flooded Nation's Oldest City.
