Sheriff DAVID SHOAR's cronies at the St. Augustine Record, which will no longer be owned by MORRIS COMMUNICATIONS effective with October 2, 2017 sale to GateHouse, have a parting shot. Yes. The owners and controllers are unhappy. Yes, my friends and neighbors. Liberation Day is near -- October 2, 2017. Yes, we wear the revolting Record publisher's scorn as a badge of honor. Hoping its new owners will have no desire to cover up for Sheriff SHOAR, who changed his name from "HOAR" in 1994.
"Above all, our readers want sincerity, truthfulness and directness."
-- Nina Hawkins, Editor, St. Augustine Record, 1934-1953
"It's 'Real' Simple."
"For nearly 125 years, the St. Augustine Record has existed to produce journalism, with the mission of shining a spotlight on our community, of telling our story. Our work is impartial, impactful, thoughtful and accurate. It can be fun or funny, harrowing or heartbreaking. It is always news gathering without assumption, fear or favor. Fake news? Hardly."
"We're not in the business of tricky headlines, twisted facts, pseudonyms, vendettas, slanted or uninformed blog posts, or sensationalist fluff. Our team of veteran reporters is in the community each and every day, not just when news breaks or for a quick segment on the 6 p.m. news. We cover local government (St. Johns County, St. Augustine and St. Augustine Beach), law enforcement agencies, the courthouse, school district, business community, farms, neighborhoods, and the many interesting people and places that are part of St. Johns County's story."
"So if you want to know what's happening in your back yard, in your schools, halls of government, streets and community, rest assured that what you read in The Record is journalism, pure (sic) and simple."
"In print and online at staugustine.com, we're here to stay, for 'Real.'"
"get REAL. get reading. get results."

The fact that people pay for their own brainwashing is testimony to how co-opted the city is by the gangster administrative class and how news starved the community is.
