Florida Governor Ron DeSantis rightly suspended Broward County Sheriff SCOTT ISRAEL under Florida Constitution Article IV, Section 7.
Now Governor DeSantis must suspend St. Johns County Sheriff DAVID SHOAR under Florida Constitution Article IV, Section 7.
No man is above the law, particularly not a lawman who covered up crimes, including homicides and embezzlements by his own employees. Enough tolerance by Florida officials for the crimes, torts and sins of St. Johns County Sheriff DAVID SHOAR, who legally changed his name from "HOAR" in 1994.

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday rejected suspended Broward Sheriff Scott Israel’s contention that the governor removed him from office because of politics.
Just three days after taking office in January, DeSantis suspended Israel, citing “neglect of duty” and “incompetence” related to the Jan. 6, 2017, shooting at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in which five people were killed, and Feb. 14, 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School massacre, in which 17 people were killed.
In a legal response filed late Friday with the Florida Senate – which upholds or overturns gubernatorial suspensions – Israel’s attorneys said DeSantis suspended the sheriff because as a candidate for governor he wanted to score points with the families of people killed in the Parkland massacre.
DeSantis, speaking just before he delivered a speech to the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward’s business development group, said that’s not true.
Scott Israel blasts Gov. DeSantis, calling charges against him ‘patently false' »
“The Parkland families are people that I have listened to on different things. Doesn’t mean I agree with them on everything. But I think that in this instance, obviously, there were major failures of government.”
He said Israel will be able to make his argument to the Florida Senate and see “if they buy them, then vote for him.”
DeSantis wanted the matter resolved by the end of the annual legislative session, which adjourned on Saturday.
But Israel fought the suspension in court. He lost, but the Senate delayed consideration of the case until all court proceedings were done. A final hearing before a Senate special master is scheduled for June.
“I wanted this done by now,” DeSantis said. “I think the fact that they have this special master scheduled for June leads me to think probably sometime in September they can deal with it.”
