KOMPROMAT?: St. Augustine Record Editor Jim Sutton Tells Another Whopper About Michelle O'Connell Case

152 word excerpt from St. Augustine Record's Saturday, May 11, 2019 editorial, "Thumbs and Quotes":

  • “There was a lot of speculation whether it was a suicide or a homicide, so we were waiting on that. ... So we are moving forward with this as a homicide, and we’re just asking the public for any additional information.” – Putnam County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Allison Waters-Meritt, speaking in a story Tuesday about a District 23 Medical Examiner’s report that ruled a January shooting at a World Golf Village condominium a homicide. The victim is Ellie Marie Washtock. The case is both notable and complicated by the fact the victim was conducting a unofficial probe of the 2010 death of Michelle O’Connell, who was killed with her boyfriend’s service revolver. He was (and remains) a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Deputy when she was found dead. Her death was ruled a suicide, but family members and others* have insisted it was murder at the hands of the boyfriend, Deputy Jeremy Banks.

We in the reality-based community -- people who did NOT:

  • drive intoxicated on Anastasia Island at 3 AM under the influence of AMBIEN and alcohol,
  • run over a mailbox,
  • have a man on our automobile windshield,
  • was charged only with reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident, and
  • benefitted from a sorry plea bargain allowing Sheriff DAVID SHOAR and State's Attorney RALPH JOSEPH LARIZZA to own St. Augustine Record Opinion Editor Jim Sutton's soul.

A recovering Republican and scion son of a sorry adulterous state legislator he outed in one of his best-ever columns, Jim Sutton often writes excellent editorials.  Jim Sutton often prints my letters and columns -- as long as they don't criticize Sheriff DAVID SHOAR's handling of the Michelle O'Connell case, in which case they are spiked.

Driving under the inference, Record Opinion Editor Jim Sutton's misuse of the word "others" reminds me of the time when NBC News co-anchor David Brinkley was giving election results and reported the statistic for "others," stating, "His first name is Sam."

In this case, "others" might include all of us, including but not be limited to :

  1. ever sentient critter in St Johns County,
  2. everyone who knows guns don't recoil forwad
  3. everyone who knows Michelle's jaw was broken, a fact omitted from the 2010 autopsy,
  4. everyone who read The New York Times articles
  5. everyone who saw the PBS Frontline story
  6. everyone who saw the NBC News Dateline story
  7. everyone who saw the Dr. Phil program
  8. everyone who saw the ABC News 20/20 story
  9. everyone capable of critical thinking
  10. everyone who is not a stuckup suckup for Sheriff DAVID SHOAR.

The FBI must investigate Sheriff SHOAR and the 2010 homicide of Michelle O'Connell and 2019 homicide of Eli/Ellie Washtock.

Now.

There must be a thorough investigation of the St. Johns County Sheriff, its illegal spending and the $700,000 embezzlement by SHOAR's Finance Director, Raye Brutnell.

Governor Ron DeSantis suspended the Broward County Sheriff and Okaloosa County School Supt.

Governor Claude Kirk suspended corrupt, evil racist St. Johns County Sheriff LAWERENCE O. DAVIS (1949-1970), removed by State Senate by 44-2 vote (falsely reported as having been "exonerated" on Sheriff DAVID SHOAR's website, despite requests for corrections over the years).

For the same reason and with the same constitutional basis

Enough flummery, dupery and nincompoopery from SHOAR and the hick hack sad sacks and chain gang journalists" at the dupey St. Augustine Record.

Allowing SHOAR to handpick favorite Sheriffs to investigate crimes related to his agency, while sidestepping FDLE and FBI, is, at best u seemly.

SHOAR is a corrupt erial hirer and retainer of wife beaters, an oleaginous sociopath (a bigshot crook who does not walk into a room, he oozes) who legally changed his name from "HOAR" in 1994.

It's time for SHOAR to go.

As President Jimmy Carter said, "I see no reason why big shot crooks should go free, and the poor ones go to jail."
