Robert Hall, R.I.P.

Professor Robert Hall was an inspiration to us all, encouraging us to support authenticity and historic preservation in St. Augustine against the formidable forces of greed in our town. From former Mayor George Gardner's St. Augustine Report:

  Robert 'Bob' Hall
1932-2019
Robert 'Bob' Hall, 87, passed away on September 7 at the Bailey Family Center for Caring.
It was the 454th Anniversary commemoration of the founding of St Augustine at the Mission Nombre de Dios, reenacted by the Men of Menendez, Historic Florida Militia, which he helped found.
Bob and Gudrun Hall, along with Carl and Patti Rang, received the city's de Aviles Award in 2016 for years of leadership with the reenactment community.
He was Chairman of the Flagler College Art Department for more than 20 years, and served on the City Commission and Architectural Review and Planning and Zoning boards.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, September 14, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
