DEPARTMENT OF SLOTH AND TORPOR, iI: St. Johns County Administrator HUNTER SINCLAIR CONRAD "HATES GOVERNMENT," DELAYS REQUESTS

Florida's Open Records law requires response to requests in a reasonable time.

21 days is not reasonable.  It is an abuse of power.

"I hate government," says County Administrator HUNTER SINCLAIR CONRAD, graduate of a for-profit law schooo about to lose its American Bar Association accreditation.

Discriminatory smarmy CONRAD, a/k/a "Church Lady," helped block a County Commission proclamation for LBTQIA+ Pride month.

People who share in his hateful ideological perversions include Republican Executive Committee Chair ROY ALAIMO, JR., whose St. Augustine Record letter, was co-signed by  Vice Chair TAMARA RENUART.

I requested documents on the County's plaque honoring ALAIMO, a restaurant menus salesman who long served on the County Planning and Zoning Agency,

21 days later, maladroit CONRAD & Co. have not provided a single document,

Here's the e-mail trail:

Dear Mr. Conrad, Chairman Blocker, et al.:
1. Why did St. Johns County Administrator HUNTER SINCLAIR CONRAD take three (3) weeks -- 21 days -- without providing a single document in response to this request?  How could it possibly take SJC BoCC's Administrator three (3) weeks not to respond, but simply to generate a standard form letter acknowledging this simple June 16, 2021 request?
2. Enough discrimination and disrespect for human rights.
3. Enough retaliation for my exercise of First, Ninth and Fourteenth Amendment rights to protected activity.
4. Enough "Jim Crow law."
5. Enough sloth and torpor from our maladroit, misguided St. Johns County Commission Administrator, in the place that the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once called "the most lawless in America."
6. Kindly honor your oaths, from this day forward.
7. Please cease and desist all obstructionism. Now.
8. St. Johns County lacks a welcoming spirit.
9. Does being St. Johns County mean never having to apologize for anything?
10. Please call me to discuss, today.
Thank you.
With kindest regards, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Ed Slavin

Dear Ed Slavin,

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your public records request.  St. Johns County will determine if it has any records that are responsive to your request.  If any such records are located, we will compile them and redact any exempt material prior to providing them to you.  Per St. Johns County Administrative Code 104.6, the County may request a deposit for costs if an extensive records search takes more than fifteen (15) minutes to locate, review for exempt information, copy (if requested), and re-file the requested material.  Should it be determined that the nature or volume of the public records requested requires the extensive use of information technology resources, or extensive clerical or supervisory assistance, or both, then we will first respond with an estimate of the additional charges for the actual costs incurred, and whether a deposit will be required.  In such instance, the records will be compiled only after you approve the charges and the County receives any required deposit.  Payment for the total or remaining costs can be made when the records are available.  If the actual cost is less than your deposit, you will be refunded the balance.  If you fail to provide the cost deposit within thirty (30) days, your request will be closed.

Respectfully,

Betty Dixon
