Ponte Vedra lawyer Malcolm Anthony was arrested for DUI and booked at 2:47 am. Mr. Anthony allegedly asked the arresting officer, "Come on, man, can't you just give me a speeding ticket?" Officer Alexander Ellis rightly refused to fix his case.
After spending some twelve hours in jail and having an initial appearance before County Court Judge Charles Tinlin, former Circuit Judge candidate Malcolm Anthony was released from jail this afternoon, 8/27, on his own recognizance. SJSO records filed in court alleged Anthony allegedly refused breath, blood or urine alcohol and drug testing, and that his license has been suspended for one year.
Mr. Anthony ran against controversial right-wing Circuit Court Judge Scott DuPont, who was removed from office, in part due to his unfair, defamatory and deceptive attacks on Mr. Anthony.
The DUI case has been assigned to County Court Judge Alexander Christine.
To avoid an appearance of impropriety, the case of State of Florida v. Malcolm Anthony needs to be heard and prosecuted by a judge and prosecutor from another judicial circuit.
