St. Johns County Republicans voted in their August 23, 2022 Primary to nominate Ms. Krista Keating-Joseph for St. Johns County Commission defeating controversial incumbent JEREMIAH RAY BLOCKER by some 188 votes.
The Republican nomination is tantamount to election.
Graceless gauche goofy JEREMIAH BLOCKER was most noted for his hubris, hauteur and arrogance.
BLOCKER was a reliable pro-developer vote, also supported by gambling and liquor interests.
BLOCKER eliminated our right to non-agenda public comment at the beginning of meetings/
In 2021, BLOCKER blocked a Gay Pride Proclamation, also blocking proclamations for School Choice and Worker Memorial Day, which honors workers killed and maimed in the workplace.
LAUREN BLOCKER, Commissioner JEREMIAH BLOCKER's wife, was appointed to a County Court judgeship by Governor Ronald Dion DeSantis two months before he voted for Senator Travis J. Hutson's 5600 home SilverLeaf development expansion.
JEREMIAH BLOCKER will pay no property taxes effective January 1, 2022, based on VA supposedly classifying him as 100% totally and permanently disabled. This may come as news to the Florida National Guard, where BLOCKER is (or was) a J.A.G. Corps Major) -- how can BLOCKER be deployable if he is totally disabled?
BLOCKER's Big Money supporters raised some $292,118 for BLOCKER's campaign.
BLOCKER's campaign was run by Sheriff ROBERT HARDWICK's public information officer, Ms. PERET PASS -- HARDWICK has ducked ethics questions and document requests.
BLOCKER's campaign spent a mind-boggling $15.64 for every vote he got, which was not enough to overcome the righteous wrath of St. Johns County residents at overdevelopment and louche lapdogs rubber-stamping development projects.
Like other developer puppets of the past -- County Commissioners JOHN REARDON, MARK JACALONE, KAREN STERN and BRUCE MAGUIRE -- JEREMIAH RAY BLOCKER has been defeated by St. Johns County voters. In the words of Alexander Hamilton, "Here, sir, the people govern."
Only 366 Vote by Mail ballots remain uncounted -- voters whose signatures were either missing or whose signatures did not match have until 5 pm, Thursday, August 25, 2022 to cure those defects, or else their votes will not count.
Chaired by retiring County Court Judge Charles Tinlin, our St. Johns County Canvassing Board meets at 9 am on Friday, August 26, 2022.
Final deadline for final vote count is Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
My prediction: absent some unexpected fumble or unknown facts or futile flummery by feudal forces, I expect that Commissioner-elect Krista Keating-Joseph will be sworn in at the November 15, 2022 St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners meeting,
Ms. Keating-Joseph is a Gold Star Mother whose son, Charles Keating IV, died fighting ISIS.
Today we honor her courage in standing up to and defeating a corrupt political machine,

Footnote: Democrats and No Party Affiliation voters were shut out of what should have been a Universal Primary, owing to one (1) spoiler, a putative write-in candidate. Former Florida Secretary of State Katharine Harris and election lawyer Mark Herron convinced courts to negate the intended effect of the 1998 constitutional amendment, which promised universal primaries where all candidates running for office are of one party and there is no opposition in the general election. One shill calling himself a write-in is enough to frustrate the voters' intention in adopting the constitutional amendment.
