Every single vote in favor of overdevelopment here in St. Johns County has been by Republicans, 2000-2023.
No Democrat has served on County Commission since 1998.
The SJC GQP wants to keep it thataway.
So beware GQP greenwashing. Aa my late friend, video journalist J.D. Pleasant. said of the Establishment here, "They will say and do anything."
An ad copywriter is looking for candidates (but only Republicans) to run in County Commission Districts 1,3,5 as opponents of overdevelopment.
No Dems or NPAs need inquire. Wonder why?
This smells like an SJC REC tactic to maintain one-party rule in SJC, where for a quarter of a century, SJC REC-endorsed developer cat's paws have ruled.
The structure of our County Commission is the result of 1998 Republican gerrymandering, reducing Commission from seven to five, with all five required to run County-wide. (Before that, five of seven Commissioners were elected from single member districts. )

Conservatives and Republicans here have done everything in their power to keep out other influences and ideas that would have made the county more successful and provided more opportunities for more people. In doing so, they've created a nightmare for anyone who doesn't already have money... and done nothing but allow other stinking Republicans to make a dime any way they see fit.
Yeah these hogs say in not so many words that they don't want human cess here. Is that something that Jesus would say. By God these people are the money changers.
