ANNALS OF DeSANTISTAN: "I'm against it" (From Groucho Marx's Horse Feathers): DeSANTIS and Republican Party Platform?

 Update, August 20, 2024

As Adlai Stevenson said, "As scarce as truth is, the supply seems greater than the demand."

Read the angry, fetid, furious, feculent "Postcards from the Edge" that are being mailed to registered Republicans in St. Johns County?

Anti-LGBTQ, anti-conservation, attacking their GQP opponents as woke" or "liberal?

Do our Republican friends sometimes sound  petty, vindictive, histrionic or preposterous?

Pray for them?

Judge Litt taught me to ask, "Cui bono?" ("Who benefits"?)

Do both "sides" of the 2024 County Commission internecine GQP "debate" resemble this Groucho Marx song?   "Do they have no sense of decency," (in the immortal words of Joseph Welch at the 1954 Army-McCarthy hearing ?). .

The platform is this: Right wing propaganda for the lowest common intellectual denominator and buy off the rich with tax breaks and promises to clear the way for their hoarding. The high prices they'll blame on the Dems, the lowest common intellectual denominator will believe this, and the upper classes will laugh all the way to the bank. They don't really care that fewer and fewer people will be able to avoid their services eventually. It's all about the quick money and hoard assets and cash.

Whatever you can imagine.. conservative Republicans are against it. This state suffering horribly under the grifters and religious fundamentalist nut jobs.

GOP strategy...piss and complain about anything and everything possible when they aren't in the Whitehouse. When they are in the Whitehouse.. doesn't matter if their man does really nothing or even wracks up dozens of felonies. He's still better than a Democrat just because.
