December 8, 1941

On December 8, 1941, my Father volunteered for military service, the day after Pearl Harbor. My dad and the 82nd ABN DIVN liberated the first French town from the Nazis on D-Day, June 6, 1944, before the sun even rose that day, The South Jersey Chapter of the 82nd ABN DIVN ASSN is named for my Father, the "CPL Edward A. Slavin Chapter."
