Mayor JOSEPH LEROY BOLES, JR. to speak to "VISIT FLORIDA" group on October 17th at 9AM, pickets possible October 16-19
Controversial St. Augustine Mayor JOSEPH LEROY BOLES, JR. will speak to a statewide group at the Casa Monica Hotel on Wednesday, October 17 at 9 AM at a meeting of the "Visit Florida" Downtown & Small Towns Forum from October 16-19th.
Single-person registration is $225/each.
Pickets are possible, as a result of BOLES' intimidation of artists, the homeless, dissenters, his attacks on public speaking to the City Commission, his opposition to the St. Augustine National Historical Park, National Seashore and National Scenic Coastal Highway and his being a doormat for virtually every wetland-destroying, tree-killing development advanced by foreign investors and speculators like ROBERT MICHAEL GRAUBARD.
If you protest, bring your toothbrushes, because St. Augustine Police have been manipulated and abused by controversial City Manager WILLIAM B. HARRISS for illegal purposes, as the illegal artists arrests (see below) and other events prove.
Other picketing possibilities include:
-- Tuesday, October 16th-- 6-8 PM, Lightner Museum, "Ice Breaker Reception"
-- Wednesday October 17th-- 6:30 -7:30 PM Columbia Restaurant -- "Reception Mixer"
-- Thursday, October 18th-- 6:30-7:30 PM, St. Augustine Lighthouse "Reception Mixer"
Apparently, not one of the programs in this state-sponsored junket addresses environmental preservation and national park issues, although there is time for a "developer's perspective" and tours of Palatka and St. Augustine. Other speakers include the Florida Secretary of State Kurt S. Browning, Mayor of Palatka Karl N. Flagg and academic speakers on history and "crisis planning."
There may be a need for "crisis planning" if activists picket BOLES & Co. (see schedule). see this week's FOLIO Weekly for more about tatterdemalion BOLES & CO.
