Letter: Supports 'single payer' plan for Medicare
Mrs. Robin E. Nadeau
St. Augustine
Publication Date: 05/14/09
Editor: Medicare for All, HR 676, will serve all Americans, and save us money, because administrative costs for Medicare are 2 to 3 percent instead of 25 to 30 percent.
With "single payer," we would get preventive care far cheaper to treat than advanced disease.
We pay the salaries of our legislators.
They must serve us, not the special interests that abuse us.

In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
