In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Not Enough Seats for Mayor Shaver's Inauguration -- City Staff is Still Deeply Insensitive
No room at the inn. It happened on the 59th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest in Montgomery, Alabama.
In a stunning display of bad manners and the continuing presence of bad taste and The UnWelcome Wagon at City Hall, there were not enough seats at City Hall for Mayor Nancy Shaver's inauguration by Florida Supreme Court Justice Peggy Quince. This was quite intentional -- for weeks I asked that tables at the back of the room be removed. No response.
When I complained, City Hall energumen served me with a no-trespass order barring me from City Hall offices without an appointment. How gauche. How louche.
City Manager John Patrick Regan has already heard from my attorney, James Patrick Wilson, former City Attorney.
Our Right to Know will be respected, and not neglected, from this day forward.
We shall overcome!
The Wrath of Boles has just begun.
ReplyDeleteReformists, activists, concerned citizens: be vigilant. All those points on the line lead to the same source, a vengeful and sorry loser.
Watch for attempts to destroy and corrupt our new mayor. It will never happen. But they will try.
Accept your verdict, ex-mayor Boles. The people have spoken.
