City announces budget preparation schedule
Includes additional commission meetings on specific topics

The City of St. Augustine has announced the schedule for the preparation of its budget for the fiscal year 2015-2016 which begins on October 1. The schedule includes more public meetings of the city commission than in past years with several of them offering focused discussions on specific topics.

Most of the special topic meetings will be held just prior to regular city commission meetings while other budget discussions will be included as part of the regular meeting’s agenda. All meetings will be held in The Alcazar Room, City Hall, 75 King St., and are planned to be available for live and on-demand viewing via www.CoSATV.com.

Special meeting with discussion of operations of the Solid Waste Division

Monday, May 11, 5:00pm
Regular meeting will include discussion related to the Historic Area Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) and the Lincolnville Community Redevelopment Area.

Monday, June 8, 3:30pm
Special meeting with review of the 10-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), and a discussion of the rate study and long term financing related to the Utility Fund.

Thursday, June 25, 8:00am
Special meeting with a discussion regarding preliminary budget estimates, the strategic plan for fiscal year 2015-2016, distribution and discussion of city-wide revenue report, and discussion of performance measures related to the strategic plan.

Monday, July 13, 4:00pm
Special meeting with discussion regarding proposed rate adjustments, including the proposed millage rate, and a discussion regarding operations of the Visitor Information Center.

Monday, July 27, 5:00pm
Regular meeting will include adoption of the resolution of the proposed millage rate.

Monday, August 10, 4:00pm
Special meeting with discussion of the 2015-2016 strategic action items (business plan) and the five-year CIP.

Thursday, August 27, 9:00am
Special meeting for discussion of the full 2015-2016 proposed budget to include final discussions and adoption of the five-year CIP, strategic plan, performance measurements and action items (business plan). If necessary, the meeting will continue the following morning starting at 9:00am.

Special meeting with the initial public hearing for the tentative budget and millage rate adoption.
