In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

Not in my backyard — again
Editor: Can you visualize a hotel, 30 rooms, day and night events, weddings, noise and congestions with increased traffic parking, all alongside your home?
Was HP-1 zoning for residential neighborhoods enacted to protect our quality of life and property values?
I left a very special and beautiful place where I lived all my life because of the same encroachment into our neighborhoods and towns by constant changes and variances to our zoning and conservation laws that money always influences.
History does repeat itself.
