"INNEDIATE ATTENTION," Doggy "dinging" fans: Proofreaders badly needed at City, County, St. Augustine Record

Spectacular incidence of misspellings in City of St. Augustine, St. Johns County and St. Augustine Record writings.

o Former Florida State Legislature proofreader, our estimable City of St. Augustine Public Affairs Director PAUL WILLIAMSON, as lugubrious a goober as ever made a chair squeak, issued an e-mail on the County's boil water notice, clarifying that it did not apply to City water customers. WILLIAMSON wrote:

o St. Johns County Administrator MICHAEL DAVID WANCHICK's staff made a presentation about "Doggy dinging" at the May 3, 2016 County Commission meeting, or so one viewgraph said.

o St. Augustine Record proofreaders must be dyslexic or drinking alcohol when they put the newspaper to bed.  In 1995, on its 100th anniversary, the headline was on Jay Leno: "100 YEARS OF PUBIC SERVICE."  Some recent examples of headlines from the electronic version:

By the way, blonde bean-counter DELINDA FOGEL, St. Augustine Record Publisher, who proposed having free volunteer proofreaders at the notoriously misspelled St. Augustine Record, is leaving town -- going to become Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Morris Publishing Group in Atlanta, Georgia.  

"Freee" at last, "freee" at last, thank God Almighty, we're "Freee" at last!

When I complained to her in 2014 about terroristic anonymous death threats against City officials by anonymous Record commenter about Mumford & Sons, she asked, "Do you have a degree in journalism?"  I responded, "No, but I was interviewed by The New York Times last week (for the obituary on Oak Ridge National Laboratory whistleblower "Bud" Varnadore, my former client). When I complained about bigoted posts, the Publisher (and now MPG CFO) said, "Well, maybe you shouldn't read it, then."
