In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves."
Before the Tennessee Supreme Court disbarred me, when I was honored to be representing American workers in litigation against oppressive employers, I was in 1990 invited, with my client, to a District of Columbia Bar Association GLBT Rights Committee assembly at the Charles Sumner School Auditorium in Washington, D.C. Before the program, I passed my client a note, asking if he wanted to go first to describe his ordeal and triumph. He wrote back, "you speek," misspelling the word but eloquently telegraphing to me that this was my job in life.
Venceremos!
We shall overcome!
Thanks for all that you do Ed!
