ADA-violating St. Augustine City Hall/Lightner Museum wheelchair ramp replaced (SAR)

Ancient, too-steep, illegal, jerry-rigged, non-compliant St. Augustine City Hall and Lightner Museum wheelchair ramp demolished, replaced with a proper ADA ramp. Good action.  Thank you.





City Hall wheelchair ramp sees upgrades

CHRISTINA.KELSO@STAUGUSTINE.COM Workers from DK Masonry remove the existing wheelchair ramp in front of City Hall on Thursday, July 27, 2017, in order to replace it with an upgraded ramp that is in compliance with current ADA codes.

Thank you for ADA compliance. It took a lawsuit by the late Robert Jones, by Merrill Paul Roland and a public interest law firm to get the City's attention. Full ADA compliance requires more seats in the Aviles Room, open spaces for wheelchairs and removing the five director's tables in the back of the room.
