Pifitful. An inaccurate August 5, 2024 WJCT News story appears to violate NPR's standards. It was repeated on Jacksonville affilliate WJCT several times today. The only source was business owner PHIL McDANIEL. No statistics. No quotes from Chamber. Other than Distillery owner PHIL McDANIEL, no one else spoke. This WJCT story was just plain dopey. Not news. Propaganda for incumbents. Unadorned by any discussion of overdevelopment, one-party rule and corruption in St. Johns County. Who wrote the crappy script? Does the Inspector General of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting know this yet? Sad. Footnote: In 2009, PHIL McDANIEL got cartoonist Ed Hall fired by the St. Augustine Record, then wanted me to delete coverage of it from this blog. I declined. (Mr. Hall died earlier this year).
Not all incumbent Commissioners are ahead.
