Now we know their clients include the SLAUGHTER BROTHERS, which current St. Johns County Interim County Attorney RICHARD CHRISTIAN KOMANDO represented in federal court case where the SLAUGHTER BROTHERS were convicted of tax fraud and workers compensation fraud. Sam Garrison specializes in defending clients throughout North Florida in serious criminal matters. DeleteThis is a Democratic Republic, not a country ruled by mobs and police who lock up people who have a problem with the democratic process. DeleteSJC is undemocratic. There was a 3-2 vote to outsource the County Attorney to a secretive corporate law firm. The "swing" vote, Clay Murphy, admitted he wanted "influence." Sounds like he craves approval from the wealthy who think they own this County. Pray for Clay Murphy to move to reconsider the rash decision, ignoring the conflicts of interest and violation of the reasonable expectations of probity.
ReplyDeleteNo SJC isn't undemocratic just because democracy didn't go your way on a particular issue. People voted for the commissioners, they voted on an issue, and it didn't go the way you wished. That doesn't mean the democratic process is flawed or SJC is undemocratic.

Thanks to the T-U, we recently learned that KOMANDO was criminal defense lawyer for white collar criminals, the SLAUGHTER BROTHERS, while he was drawing County pay. He is a walking conflict of interest. He bungled the investigation of sexual harassment. He is untrustworthy. KOMANDO is a stench in the nostrils of our County. ReplyDeleteYou think he bungled an investigation but that doesn't mean he did. Anne Taylor wanted information from him but that doesn't mean she is entitled to it. He probably feels there's no good reason to turn over private information, and until someone comes up with a good reason why he should, then he shouldn't have to. Proof and evidence of law or ethics violations would entitle her and others to ASK for that information. Until then, he has a reasonable expectation of privacy.

I personally think that development needs to be done responsibly and hasn't been. They should have done development closer to St Augustine and allowed it to spread out from one point as opposed to scattered all over. But bogus claims and a anger towards those people who aren't perceived to be fully on board with a slow growth agenda isn't the way to go.
