Who is Anne Marie Gennussa?

Anne Marie Gennusa, a Republican candidate for Public Defender for Florida's 7th Judicial Circuit, was uncooperative with NY Times investigation of the St. Johns County Sheriff and on April 15, 2013 was so indiscrete as to reveal to. Sheriff David Shoar that the Times called her about her lawsuit. Why? She showed her true colors, suing the Sheriff while tipping him off, and refusing to talk to a three-time Pulitzer Prize winner about Sheriff Shoar's Fourth Amendment violations. As they say in East Tennessee, Anne Marie Gennusa "bears watching'."

On March 9, 2020, Anne Marie Gennusa made an uninformed attack on Senator Bernie Sanders on FB after he rightly criticized the lack of funding for criminal defense lawyers for low-income Americans pursuant to Gideon v. Wainright and Argersinger v. Hamlin.

Unscholarly, uninformative, citing only a Fox News story, "In slight to public defenders, Sanders says legal system does not provide 'a decent lawyer'," Anne Marie Gennusa was willing to play to dull Fox-watching Republicans to score points. Is she a cheap shot artist.

Senator Sanders' points, when studied, were spot-on. Gennusa blared: "No, Mr. Sanders the problem isn’t Public Defenders........it’s dead wood, life long politicians like you that created laws that were unnecessary and created only to justify your existence!" She deleted all of my comments, citing NY Times reporting on underfunded PDs. Her post is here: https://www.facebook.com/GennusaforPD/

On March 30, 2020, Gennusa used "suck" as a pejorative in her Facebook posting. When I questioned her use of vulgarity, she unfriended me. How gauche and louche. Evidently, the vulgarity emanating from the Donald John Trump White House has now infected local lawyers and candidates for office. I don't approve. Now she's deleted her comment.
