In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Ethics Reform on Agenda For Next Mayor, Nancy Shaver

Mayor JOSEPH LESTER BOLES, Jr. benefits from a no-bid lease from the City with the man who destroyed a 210 year old building, while serving on the board of at least one corporation with two City employees (see below). There are no post-employment restrictions, no conflict of interest rules and no lobbying disclosure requirements in our City Code. As Brian said shortly after we moved to this beautiful place on November 5, 1999, "IT'S CROOKED AROUND HERE!"
Add Ethics Reform to the list of tasks for our next Mayor, Nancy Shaver.
