Moeller most qualified
Editor: Eight years ago, Jeannie M. Moeller was elected as commissioner of the Anastasia Mosquito Control District of St. Johns County. Under her able leadership, the AMCD has developed a worldwide reputation (literally) as a leader in scientific/technical mosquito control, with scientists from 20-plus countries visiting here to study the latest techniques in controlling the world’s most dangerous animal, the mosquito. Mosquito-borne diseases have killed more people than all of the wars in history (literally).
Under the guidance of Ms. Moeller, AMCD has ended waste, fraud and abuse. It has reined in costs, reduced pesticide use by 90 percent and kept public health from being politicized.
We in St. Johns County don’t need scientists to be bossed around by the county road and bridge department. We don’t need for AMCD to change its name; we don’t need a helicopter or any other “pork barrel” spending; we don’t need a candidate whose “qualifications” seem to be his party affiliation and religion.
What we do need is the continued, intelligent and knowledgeable leadership of Jeannie Moeller as the head of our mosquito control district. She is by far the most educated candidate in the field of mosquito control in the area, with a proven track record. Her qualifications speak for themselves.
St. Augustine Record
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
