Estimable ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH MAYOR ANDREA SAMUELS and GOVERNOR RICHARD LYNN SCOTT AT OUR PIER PARK, SCENE OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS
Arrest threats, sign destruction, meanness amid a putative "free speech zone" at Pier Park -- a 20x20 box in front of "smelly toilets" -- are illegal and unseemly, it appears to me and constitute federal civil rights violations, remediable under civil and criminal laws.
A St. Augustine Beach Civic Association letter sent by lawyer J. Stephen Alexander on behalf of St. Augustine Beach Civic Association is illegal and unseemly. These are our parks. Under Supreme Court precedent, even a content-neutral law must be narrowly tailored.
This putative Pier Park "free speech zone" is not even a law -- it is a ukase, issued by Mayor Andrea Samuels, her allied non-profit-political-machine (Civic Association) and St. Johns County, with a dumb 'ole letter threatening letter sent to Mr. William Rosenstock by Mr. Alexander, on behalf of the political machine, citing no case law, threatening arrests (read by Mr. Rosenstock at the June 16, 2015 City Commission meeting in public comment).
Mr. Rosenstock has allegedly had picket signs destroyed by St. Johns County Sheriff's employee William Jones, President of the Civic Association, in retaliation for First Amendment protected activity. The subject of the signs: parking on Pope Road. Local authoritarians' abuse of police powers continues amid an FBI investigation of Sheriff DAVID BERNARD SHOAR f/k/a "HOAR" and his henchmen, focused on the Michelle O'Connell case and other coverups.

There is no lease of the St. Johns County Pier Park to the St. Augustine Beach Civic Association. Hence, there is no right to exclude others from it, or to give arrest-threatening orders from the desk of J. Stephen Alexander, the estimable Esquire.
