Florida Republicans are fun to watch, like the Three Stooges.
On this 44th anniversary of the Watergate burglary, we're watching as the Florida Republican disorganization once again show the world their weird wicked ways:
o MARCO ANTONIO RUBIO, our estimable junior United Stats Senator, may throw his hat back in the ring to run for Senator in the August 30th primary, being pushed by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell to run, even though he announced his retirement when he began his abortive run for the Republican presidential nomination;
o RONALD DION DeSANTIS, our estimable St. Johns County U.S. Congressman (FL-6/KOCH INDUSTRIES), may withdraw from the U.S. Senate race he is losing to Governor RICHARD LYNN SCOTT's running dog, businessman CARLOS BERUFF, another Obama hater -- who twice called President Obama an "animal" in an appearance before our St. Johns County Republican Executive Committee (which the archly Republican St. Augustine Record viewspaper demurely refused to identify by name, calling it only a "Republican group");
o RONALD DION DION DeSANTIS, our estimable Congressman (FL-6/KOCH INDUSTRIES), may file to run for Congress in the August 30 primary to misrepresent half of St. Johns County in the new Fourth Congressional District, where Republican ex-Sheriff JOHN RUTHERFORD of Jacksonville and Republican Commissioner William McClure of St. Johns County are among those vying for the nomination;
o First term St. Johns County Commissioner William McClure -- an actual honest Republican who questions developers' dodgy projects -- may file to run for his current County Commission seat, saving us from JERRY CAMERON, County Administrator MICHAEL DAVID WANCHICK's hick hack hey-boy, as lugubrious a goober as ever made a chair squeak.
Florida's rebarbative Republicans are more fun to watch than a Three Stooges comedy.
What do you think?
In secret, behind locked gates, our Nation's Oldest City dumped a landfill in a lake (Old City Reservoir), while emitting sewage in our rivers and salt marsh. Organized citizens exposed and defeated pollution, racism and cronyism. We elected a new Mayor. We're transforming our City -- advanced citizenship. Ask questions. Make disclosures. Demand answers. Be involved. Expect democracy. Report and expose corruption. Smile! Help enact a St. Augustine National Park and Seashore. We shall overcome!
